Polytrope Imaging-Mode Switch

The Polytrope Imaging-Mode Switch is a fast beam switching device for TILL Photonics' iMIC Digital Microscope, that allows to change in milliseconds between widefield fluorescence illumination and laser illumination for TIRF, FRAP, laser bleaching or photo activation. The Polytrope optionally provides the capability of optical sectioning by the use of structured illumination

Combine advanced fluorescence microscopy techniques on a single instrument No change of the instruments' configuration or even switching between different instruments with sensitive preparations is required. This enables innovative experiments with living cells, increases the versatility of the microscope dramatically and leads to a better utilization of the instrument.

Ideal Applications for the Polytrope are

  • fast switching between e.g. laser bleaching or photo excitation and observation in TIRF or epifluorescence
  • real-time TIRF observation after FRAP or photoactivation
  • structured 3D - imaging after FRAP
  • high speed switching between membrane and whole cell fluorescent imaging
  • real time fluorescent imaging using multiple laser lines
