iMIC FCS

Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy extension for the iMIC

A descanning FSC detection unit for the iMIC.
Functional principle
The Yanus scan head is equipped with one or more ports for laser excitation and one port for fluorescence emission from the sample. Emission light is coupled out from the digital scan head by a multimode fiber, which acts as confocal aperture. The fibre is connected to the FCS beam box which splits emission light by wavelength or polarization. Two Avalanche photodiodes are used as detectors.

The first system has been delivered to Saveez Saffarian, Univ. of Utah and is used for FCS measurements in combination with TIRF. See here for Dr. Saffarians publication describing statistical analysis of FCS measurements.
