Why did we decide to integrate two detectors instead of only one or many more?

We are convinced that having two detectors is the ideal solution for an instrument focussed on intravital work. Two detectors allow imaging in two colours simultaneously, and by use of the motorized slider with up to three dichroic-mirror/filter combinations you can detect fluorescence in up to six colour channels. Furthermore, having two or more detectors is a required for FRET-measurements and for calcium imaging with ratiometric- or FRET-dyes.
